Welcome to Charleston First Church of the Nazarene
A Ministry to the Kanawha Valley
“A Church For All Generations.”
Building A Life of Purpose
What is God’s purpose for your life, for your family, for our church? Defining “Purpose” sets the foundation for making decisions and setting priorities. One definition of Purpose in the dictionary is “drive.” So, simply put: What drives us on a daily basis?
As we look forward to the new church year, my mind is on “Building a Life of Purpose.” God’s purpose for our lives does not have an expiration date, except for the day we go home to be with the Lord. We should guard against retiring from God’s service. We must make up our minds to be optimistic, flexible, and forward looking.
Fulfilling God’s purpose for your life will be challenged from all sides. People will discourage and disappoint you. Circumstances will attempt to derail your life’s purpose. The world, the flesh, and the Devil will be great forces to contend with.
“Building A Life of Purpose” includes some foundational truths.
- Be faithful to God and Scripture no matter what.
- Spend much time alone with God.
- Seek relationships and affirmation with the local church family.
- Keep the “God is Able” clause on the tip of your tongue.
- Take action. Get involved. Give your passion to that which is eternal.
Let’s have an effective year of ministry to the Glory of God.
